Mali Tourism

From Its glorious past, marked by the history of the great empires, Mali inherited a rich person cultural heritage, real contribution to human and universal civilization. It is thus not a chance, if our country has 4 classified sites world heritage by UNESCO: Tombouctou, for its mosques going back to several centuries, Djenné, known thousand-year-old city entirely built, the Dogon Country, with its magic and mythical universe and the Tomb of Askias in the town of Gao, relic of the dynasty founder of the Songhoï Empire.

The history of Mali, it is also that of Soundiata Keïta, paralytic child become king of one of the greatest empires; that of Africa of Soumangourou Kanté, the king wizard and that of Sonni Ali Ber, Ali the Large one.

Mali also has great natural reserves of a surface of 4 458 280 ha including :
- representatives zones of the ecosystems;
- Three sites Ramsar (Séri, Lake Horo, Oualado Débo) in the inundated part of the interior Delta of the Niger river;
- two great rivers, the Niger and the Senegal;
- great spaces of the Sahara and their sand bands.

These natural assets favour Saharan tourism, river tourism and with the ecotourism.

In addition the revival and the vitality of tourism Malian comes a dynamics of progress. This evolution is perceived, through the organization of the sector, a priority for the department directed by Mr. Diaye BA, Minister for the Craft industry and Tourism. Now, they are to consolidate the assets and to take up "the challenge" of quality the services on the level of the reception, accomodations, restoration and guidance.

Our tourist potential, our participation in the great events and the organization of eductours (voyages of familiarisation) contribute to make of Mali, a destination of appraisal. To attest opening of the country on the outside, Mali offers the possibility of exploitation of circuits inter-States between Mali and Senegal, Mali and Ivory Coast, Mali and Burkina Faso, Mali and Tunisia, Mali and Morocco.

The political stability of the country and the legendary hospitality of the Malian consitute an asset which must be preserve.

Concurrently to our primarily cultural product develops a business district and congress, Bamako, a capital which is modernizing.
